Mr. David Nicholson

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list in theOfficial Report his estimates for the amount of income from borrowing obtained by local government and the proportion these figures represent of total local government spending in England for each year since 1982.

3. Gross of sales, fees and charges, capital receipts and Government grants. Excludes double counting of flows between service accounts and other local authorities. Excludes the notional value of capital assets acquired by leasing.
