HC Deb 28 November 1989 vol 162 c218W
Mr. Boateng

To ask the Secretary of State for Health when lie intends to write to the hon. Member for Brent, South about the survey of haemoglobinopathy services.

Mr. Freeman

I regret that pressure of other work has delayed completion of the analysis of the results of this survey, but it remains our intention to review present provision for counselling and genetic diagnosis and screening—including that for sickle cell disease and thalassaemia—and consider the need for further central guidance. I hope that this work can commence early in the new year.
