HC Deb 15 November 1989 vol 160 c303W
Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy how many domestic gas consumers had their supply cut off in 1978–79 and each succeeding year.

Mr. Wakeham

This is a matter for British Gas plc. However, I was delighted to note that in the year ended September 1989, disconnections fell by 58 per cent. and that the number of customers disconnected is now lower than at any time since records were first kept in 1977.
