HC Deb 15 November 1989 vol 160 c341W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Health why his Department has decided not to collate the number of cases of outpatients and inpatients treated because of attacks from animals.

Mr. Freeman

The information on inpatient and day cases treated as a result of attacks by animals should be available early next year when health authorities have overcome problems in introducing the additional codes on their patient records.

The information is not collected on outpatients because there are too many outpatient attendances for such coding to be practical.
