HC Deb 14 November 1989 vol 160 c136W
Mr. Paice

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what implications the Forestry Commission's research into the storage of carbon in trees and timber has for future environmental policy in Great Britain.

Mr. Trippier

[holding answer 13 November 1989]: Better figures for carbon fixation will help in evaluating the role forestry might play in removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and the value of further encouraging forestry in the United Kingdom.
