HC Deb 13 November 1989 vol 160 c49W
Ms. Harman

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he has issued any guidance to the Departments of Health and Social Security about their use of wood-preserving chemicals and pesticides.

Mr. Freeman

[holding answer 8 November 1989:] Advice has been issued to all DH and DSS offices on the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) which came into force on 1 October 1989. Contractors using either pesticides or wood-preserving chemicals on DH/SS premises will be required to comply with both the COSHH Regulations and the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986.
