Mr. JacksonData from a survey of undergraduate income and expenditure conducted by Research Services Limited in 1988–89 indicate that average rent payments for single students living in privately rented accommodation in London totalled £1,531 per student over the 1988–89 academic year. The average amount of housing benefit received by such students in the same period was £324.
