§ 75. Mr. Malcolm BruceTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement about the Agricultural and Food Research Council's research and development budget.
Mr. JacksonGrant-in-aid to the agricultural and food research Council in 1989–90 is expected to be £74.563 million. The figure for 1990–91 will be decided by my right hon. Friend after he has considered the advice of the Advisory Board for the Research Councils later this year. The council will also receive in 1989–90 approximately £45.6 million in commissioned research from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and a further £16 million from other sources.
