§ Mr. WigleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will review the advertising undertaken to alert potential beneficiaries of their possible entitlement to the extra £5 pension this autumn with a view to ascertaining the extent to which pensioners were misled by those adverts, and to avoiding any such inadvertent confusion in future.
§ Mrs. Gillian ShephardI do not accept that the advertising was misleading. One of the major intentions of the publicity was to ensure that those in doubt made a claim.
