HC Deb 07 November 1989 vol 159 c574W
Sir Michael McNair-Wilson

To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether the anti rejection drug FK-506 is being used in clinical trials with organ transplant patients anywhere in the United Kingdom.

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

Before clinical trials can take place in the United Kingdom, a clinical trial certificate or exemption must be held. Details of applications under the Medicines Act 1968 are confidential to the licensing authority, and it is not the practice to say whether specific applications have been made.
