§ Mr. John Patten[holding answer 3 November 1989]: My right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary and my right hon. Friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary have no plans to do so. A person who commits an indictable offence under the Official Secrets Acts 1911 501W to 1989 in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Falkland Islands may however be tried for the offence in the United Kingdom.
