The costs shown are illustrative only, based on counts taken either in May 1988 or May 1989. Category (e) figures relate to the number of claimants across all categories in part-time employment. Income support is not generally available for people in full-time employment. There are some exceptions, for example people whose earning capacity is substantially reduced because of disability, but separate figures are not available for these groups.
