§ Mr. KirkwoodTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in theOfficial Report details of those sections of his Department which have been relocated in the last five years, indicating the sites to which they have been moved; whether consideration is being given to future relocation of London-based sections of his Department to sites outside London; and whether the central Borders of Scotland has been identified as a suitable area for any future moves.
§ Mr. Ryder[holding answer 6 November 1989]: No sections of the Treasury have been relocated in the last five years. A review of the location of its activities is taking place under the policy that my right hon. Friend the, then, Paymaster General announced on 31 March 1988 at columns 610–11. No decisions have yet been taken.
