asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many times in each of the parliamentary sessions from 1974 to 1989—

  1. (i) the House of Lords carried amendments to Government Bills against the advice of the Government;
  2. (ii) such amendments were accepted by the Government in the House of Commons; and
  3. (iii) the amendments were reversed in the House of Commons and
    1. (a) the reversal was accepted by the House of Lords; or
    2. (b) the House of Lords insisted on their amendment.
