HL Deb 01 November 1989 vol 512 c334WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What benefits they expect to achieve by merging the existing schemes for mobility among the tenants of local authorities and housing associations; how many jobs will be lost following the merger; and what percentages of future vacancies they recommend should be reserved for tenants moving, in particular to take up new employment.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Hesketh)

Final decisions have not yet been made, either by the Government or the bodies concerned. An assessment of the proposal (including the manpower required for a new single body) has been made by the mobility working party and I shall send the noble Lord a copy of its report.
