HC Deb 26 May 1989 vol 153 c762W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will now ask the chairman of the Gwynedd health authority to convene a full meeting of the authority to consider on the basis of the most recent information available to it, whether or not it still wishes to proceed with proposals to close the cottage hospital, Caernarfon.

Mr. Grist

My right hon. Friend will consider all appeals made to him, including those providing updated information, before reaching his decision on Gwynedd health authority's proposals for the cottage hospital, Caernarfon. Appeals will be copied as appropriate to officers of the health authority for their comments so that they can be taken into account by the Secretary of State. The decision whether to convene a full meeting in the light of any appeal relating to recent information would be for the health authority.
