HC Deb 26 May 1989 vol 153 cc778-9W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list for the Trent regional health authority the average number of National Health Service operations done by consultants in each specialty in each of the past five years for which figures are available.

Mr. Freeman

The available information on the numbers of in-patient cases, day cases and medical staff is shown in the tables. It is not possible to derive meaningful averages because operations performed on out-patients are excluded and some operations are performed by registrars.
