§ Mr. EggarThe Foreign and Commonwealth Office's interest in cases involving the abduction and taking abroad of children stems from the child's British nationality, irrespective of the nationality or place of birth of its parents. Some of the information requested by my hon. Friend is not therefore available—for example, the place of birth of fathers or the nationality of mothers.
The information which can be provided is not immediately available, and a further reply will be given to my hon. Friend in due course.
