§ The Attorney-GeneralThe institution or continuance of criminal proceedings in these cases, as with all other cases, is considered in accordance with the guidelines set out in the code for crown prosecutors issued under section 10 of the Prosecution of Offences Act 1985. Proceedings will be instituted or continued only where the evidence is sufficient to conclude that there is a realistic prospect of conviction and a prosecution is required by the public interest.
