§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyIt is for waste disposal authorities to choose the most appropriate method of disposal for their own locality, taking account of the economic and environmental implications in so doing. We are currently considering changes to the legislation which will ensure that the true costs of waste disposal are met by those disposing of the waste. It may well be that recycling or other methods of treating waste will then be seen as more attractive options.
