HC Deb 15 May 1989 vol 153 cc44-5W
Mr. Roy Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he has any plans to allocate more funds to hospitals in Gwent.

Mr. Grist

My right hon. Friend announced in January allocations for the current financial year. The authority's initial revenue cash allocation for 1989–90 is £127.4 million, an increase of 5.8 per cent. over last year; in addition the authority is expected to achieve cost improvements and generate additional income equivalent to a further 1.3 per cent. of its recurrent revenue allocation. The authority's capital allocation is £7.3 million, an increase of nearly 43 per cent. over 1988–89.
