HC Deb 15 May 1989 vol 153 c105W
23. Mr. Pike

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on the conclusions of the report of Dr. Barry Dale of the Energy Department's energy technology support unit.

Mr. Parkinson

I believe that the report to which the hon. Member is referring is a paper presented by Dr. Dale to an International Energy Agency experts seminar in Paris on 12 to14 April.

He concluded that it appeared to be technically feasible to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by a significant amount but that this would not be an easy task and a combination of measures and technologies would be required.
