HC Deb 15 May 1989 vol 153 c25W
Mr. Rogers

To ask the Prime Minister what risk has been created for the British Exchequer by the underwriting of the Malaysian arms deal by Government agencies; and if she will list the risk underwritten by each and every agency.

The Prime Minister

To the extent that ECGD becomes involved in supporting arms sales to Malaysia it will do so on the basis of its normal approach to the risks involved and its financial objective of operating its credit insurance schemes at no net cost to public funds. No other Government agencies will be involved in underwriting risks in connection with this business.
