Whether they list those products which are approved for use as veterinary medicines under the Medicines Act 1968 for application to:
- (a) fish in freshwater farms,
- (b) fish in salt water farms.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Baroness Trumpington)There are five products licensed for use in both freshwater and saltwater fish. These are:
- Pharmsure Aquinox for use on salmon;
- Aqualinic Powder for use on salmon and trout;
- Tribissen Powder 40 per cent. for use on atlantic salmon and rainbow trout;
- Terramycin Soluble Powder for use on trout;
- Pharmsure Tetraplex for use on atlantic salmon.
In addition, six vaccines are licensed for use on rainbow trout in fresh water:
- Enteric Redmouth Vaccine
- Aeromonas Salmonicida Vaccine
- Aeromonas Salmonicida Vibrio A
- Vibrio Anguillarum Vaccine
- Fishevax
- Ermogen
