§ Mr. WaldegraveOur relations with the countries of eastern Europe are as varied as the countries themselves. We naturally have the closest relations with those whose systems and values come closest to our own. In this context we welcome the substantial steps towards freedom and democracy taken recently in Poland and Hungary.
