§ Mr. Frank FieldTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security whether, pursuant to his statement on 24 April,Official Report, column 725, that £9 of every £10 of means-tested benefit reaches those to whom it is intended, he will list the total sum in public expenditure allocated to each of the main means-tested benefits administered by his Department; and if he will also list the sums paid out to claimants in the last relevant financial year.
§ Mr. ScottThe total sums allocated to each of the main income-related benefits for forward years and the latest estimates of the sums paid out to claimants in repect of these benefits in 1988–89, the last relevant financial year, are set out in table 15.1 of Cm 615.
