HL Deb 04 May 1989 vol 507 c388WA
The Earl of Kimberley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will join in an international call for Russia to state its involvement in the Katyn massacre of 1940, in view of the fact that the Polish Government have alleged that the massacre was carried out by Russia and not by Germany, as was previously believed.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Lord Glenarthur)

We are not aware of such a call, but would like to see the facts on Katyn finally established. We urge the Soviet authorities to assist in this.
