To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the current percentage of children of pre-school age currently enrolled in state-run pre-school education in Wales.

The information in respect of pre-school age children (excludes the rising fives) as at January 1988 is as followsNursery or primary schools—68.8 per cent. of which: In nursery schools or nursery classes in primary schools—36.7 per cent.
