§ Mr. David NicholsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what meetings are planned between experts from various European Economic Community countries, including the United Kingdom, to discuss European Economic Community parallel importing schemes of150W pharmaceutical products, and the problem of counterfeiting; when these are to take place; who will represent Her Majesty's Government; and what proposals Her Majesty's Government have to meet these problems.
§ Mr. MellorWe have written to the Commission and to our EC colleagues suggesting that a meeting of experts would be helpful to discuss whether any changes to parallel importing arrangements might be needed in the light of the recent incident involving counterfeit Zantac tablets. We are in touch with the Commission about how best to follow this up.
