§ Mr. LangThe seasonally adjusted number of employees in employment in Scottish manufacturing in the first quarter of 1979 was some 606,000. Figures for the last quarter of 1988 are not yet available. The number in the third quarter is provisionally estimated at around 399,000. The latter estimate may be revised when the results of the 1987 census of employment become available.
