To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what estimate he has made of the contribution that individual citizens might make towards reducing pollution.

The individual citizen can make a considerable contribution towards the reduction of pollution. The prevention of litter and the choice of environmentally friendly products—for instance the use of lead-free petrol—are among the many examples of the action that can be taken.
