§ Mr. FlynnTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport (1) if he will list the totals and percentages of motorway fatal and other serious accidents, recorded in tailbacks that are(a) predicted and (b) unexpected in each of the last 10 years;
(2) how many fatal and other serious accidents on motorways occurred in tailbacks of stationary or slow-moving traffic in each of the last 10 years.
§ Mr. Peter Bottomley[holding answer 21 March 1989]: The stats 19 road accident report form does not record whether there was a tailback at the scene of a road accident.
