To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he expects to complete the sale of the General Practice Finance Corporation Ltd.

I am pleased to announce that I have accepted an offer of £145 million from Norwich Union Life Insurance Society for the acquisition of all the ordinary share capital of the General Practice Finance Corporation Ltd., and the repayment of the company's indebtedness to the Commissioners for the Reduction of the National Debt. The transaction is being completed this morning.
