§ Mr. LilleyStatutory responsibility for the authorisa-tion and supervision of banks and for the assessment of whether their directors, controllers or managers are fit and proper persons within the terms of the Banking Act 1987 rests with the Bank of England. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on any particular case.
