To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will deregulate goods and passenger vehicle operator licensing; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. Portillo
The Department has just completed a review of operator licensing to consider ways in which the burden it imposes on industry might be reduced. Proposals will be published for public consultation, probably in the summer.
