To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will now designate British Island Airways as a British carrier for the Gatwick-Malta and Manchester-Malta routes commencing on 10 April.

British Island Airways was designated for these routes on 10 March 1989.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive in his Department the written decision from the Civil Aviation Authority regarding the recent route licence applications by Air Europe, Air UK, Monarch and British Island Airways to Malta starting on 1 April.

The Department has received a copy of the decision, which was dated 10 March 1989.
