§ Mr. MacGregorNearly 58,000 hectares (143,000 acres) of arable land is being set aside in the United Kingdom during the current crop year; and about 3 million hectares (7 million acres) have been registered by farmers not yet setting aside land in case they should wish to apply to join the scheme later.
