§ Mr. PortilloTwo representations were received, which did not oppose the proposed average increase of 12 per cent. in marine examination fees, which is to be implemented on 1 April and which is broadly in line with inflation since the last changes in these fees. A third representation proposed that these and certain other fees should be abolished. We believe, however, that the costs of such services should be borne by those who use them and not by the taxpayer.
