HC Deb 09 March 1989 vol 148 c624W
21. Mr. Alton

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference will consider the implications for the environment and health of Northern Ireland of current levels of pollution in the Irish sea.

Mr. Tom King

Discussions between the United Kingdom and Irish Governments about pollution in the Irish sea have hitherto been conducted by the Ministers and officials directly concerned rather than through the Intergovernmental Conference. I am sure that this remains the right approach.
