To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to announce further details of the second Severn crossing.

We announced on 28 February the shortlist of tenderers for the second Severn crossing. I refer my hon. Friend to the answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Harrow, West (Mr. Hughes) at column116.

We hope to be in a position to announce the successful tenderer by the end of the year.
