How many remand prisoners were held in custody in police cells by every police force in England and Wales on 22nd February 1989.

On 22nd February 194 prisoners, most of whom would have been on remand, were held in police cells in England and Wales, as follows:

Metropolitan Police 140
Sussex Police 4
Merseyside Police 31
Surrey Constabulary 5
Kent Constabulary 6
Hertfordshire Constabulary 8
