§ The Prime MinisterThe head of the Government information service has a general responsibility for its leadership and well-being. He is available personally to help Departments, who are responsible for the day-to-day management of their own information staff, on both general and individual management problems. He has a general responsibility for recruitment, training and career development policies. The head of the Government information service is responsible to the head of the home Civil Service for these duties, and, through him, to me.
