§ Mr. Sillars
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what are the implications of the operation of the Single European Act for Her Majesty's Government's freedom to determine policy towards the North sea oil industry.

§ Mr. Peter Morrison
As a result of the Single European Act, in determining its policy the United Kingdom must take appropriate account of articles 99, 100A, 100B, 118A and title VII of the EEC treaty.
