HL Deb 02 March 1989 vol 504 cc1250-1WA
Lord Winstanley asked Her Majesty's Government

Whether it is their policy that National Health Service general practitioners should refer patients with hearing loss direct to the National Health Service Hearing Aid Centre rather than through the hospital ear, nose and throat department.

Lord Henley

The referral of a patient with hearing loss by a general practitioner is a matter for the general practitioner (in discussion with the person/patient) in the light of local arrangements.
