HC Deb 02 March 1989 vol 148 c276W
Mr. Ron Davies

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what has been the broadleaved component of applications so far submitted under the farm woodland scheme in Scotland, and of those which have been accepted, respectively.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

My right hon. and learned Friend has received 160 applications, to date, containing proposals to plant approximately 1,700 hectares of land, of which almost 60 per cent. are identified for broadleaf trees. Twenty-four applications have so far been approved and approximately 80 per cent. of the approved planting area is identified for broadleaf trees.
