§ Mr. MoynihanThe Department took advice from medical advisers on the staff of the chief medical officer. In formulating their advice they took note of the views of the committee on the medical aspects of the contamination of air, soil and water (CASW). Limits were set individually for each supply zone up to a highest three-monthly mean of 1,200 microgram per litre and an absolute maximum of 3,500 micrograms per litre.
