§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonIndustrial workshops in prisons are supervised by civilian industrial managers and assistant managers. There are 18 such staff. Under their supervision 176 uniformed prison officers are employed as instructors in the workshops. In addition 50 prison officers work as relief instructors to cover annual leave and sick leave of instructional staff.
