§ Mr. David NicholsonTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if community charges are payable by a single person who is a resident member of staff in a boarding school during term time and who also rents a home elsewhere which is only occupied out of term time.
§ Mr. GummerAll adults, unless they are exempt, will pay a personal community charge to the charging authority in which they have their sole or main residence. Individuals with more than one home will pay a personal community charge to the authority where they mainly live and may be liable to a separate standard charge on any other domestic property they own or lease if it is no other person's main residence.
