§ Mr. MellorWe allocated £30 million from the central waiting list fund in 1988–89 as part of the Government's drive to reduce hospital waiting lists and times. This money enabled over 117,000 additional in-patients and day cases and over 92,000 extra out-patients to be treated from the waiting lists.
