§ Mr. FreemanBlood from the national blood transfusion service is supplied to non-NHS hospitals in England and Wales according to the terms of health circular HC(89)14 a copy of which is in the Library. A handling charge is made for blood supplied in this way to 319W cover items such as the costs of collection, testing and processing. No charge is made for the freely donated blood itself.
